Hike up to the castle on top of the mountain and take in the incredible views of Hamden! All trails are well marked and well maintained. Just be sure to bring your water bottle and proper footwear!

West Rock Ridge State Park
Take a trip to the top of this 627-foot ridge and admire the incredible views of New Haven Harbor and Long Island Sound! You can also hike around beautiful Wintergreen Lake, or even jump right on in with your Kayak! This state park is the perfect place to take the family for a Sunday afternoon drive.

Bassett Park
This peaceful little park is a fantastic place for kids of all ages! A fenced in playground with a sand pit is open to the public and the nearby dog park is a favorite among dog parents! Stop by Hamden Market and buy fresh produce and visit the hobby farm to see the chickens! This adorable little corner of town will make you feel right at home.
Brooksvale Park
Explore the revamped trails with your family at Brooksvale Park! Stop by the gardens and admire the beautiful flowers and be sure to visit the farm animals! Large picnic tables are available for public use all around the park. Many consider Brooksvale to be the crowned jewel of Hamden!
